Leafs Increase Physicality in Game 3 Against Bruins

In Game 3 of their playoff series, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins escalated their physical confrontation, with notable hits from Simon Benoit and Ryan Reaves on Bruins players David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha, respectively.

After the physical showdowns in Games 1 and 2, you wouldn’t think it could get more intense. But, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins did just that in Game 3 on Wednesday.

The first period alone? A whopping 60 hits. And that’s with the scoreboard still at 0-0 in Toronto.

Then, as the period was winding down, the crowd at Scotiabank Arena got an eyeful. Defenseman Simon Benoit and forward Ryan Reaves ramped up the excitement with some of the night’s most jaw-dropping contact.

Things were already heating up. But when Benoit landed a massive hit on Bruins’ star David Pastrnak, the arena erupted. Seconds later, Reaves followed suit, targeting center Pavel Zacha with a hit just as brutal.

Yeah, the rivalry? It’s alive and well.
